Course Description

Why might you need coaching?

Once we leave university, it can be difficult to find good mentors. While one can always learn from their peers and leadership, it can be impractical or politically 'messy' to hold frank conversations about career progression or skill development where you work.

We offer professional coaching and advising services for individuals looking to make changes in their careers or skill sets. Typical reasons people work with us include:

  • Recent or upcoming graduation from a degree program without clarity into future career paths
  • Feeling 'stuck' in one's healthcare career
  • Seeking to transition into healthcare analytics and out of either clinical practice or a different industry entirely
  • Desiring to get better at making decisions based on insights from healthcare data
  • Needing individualized guidance in learning an analytic skill that proves challenging

What can I expect?

  • Interaction with your mentor over web meetings, phone, Skype, or emails
  • A shared account on our secure file space for collaboration
  • Helpful resources, job aids, and templates depending on your goals
  • A retainer that reserves time with your mentor -- up to eight 30-minute sessions

How are hours used?

Coaching hours are consumed when your mentor is spending focused time on your behalf. This includes live or virtual meetings, phone calls, discussions over email, or research we complete to support your development.

Hours are consumed in 15-minute increments along the Coaching Schedule as rounded to the nearest 15-minute interval. We don't charge for a quick task or emails that just take a few minutes. Retainers should be consumed within a 3 month period as to maintain coaching consistency unless other arrangements are made.

Ok, I'm in. What's next?

Enrolling will put you in contact with a ThotWave mentor that can start you on your journey. We will begin with a 30-minute introductory call to discuss goals and craft an interaction plan e.g. a 'Coaching Schedule'. Once this is completed, your coaching hours will be executed according to this agreed upon schedule.
