Greg Nelson, MMCi, CPHIMS
CEO and Founder
Greg is a global healthcare and Business Intelligence (B.I.) executive with over two decades of experience and leadership in the field. He holds a BA in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, a Masters of Management in Clinical Informatics, Healthcare Analytics and Performance Management from Duke University, and has conducted doctoral level work in Social Psychology and Quantitative methods at the University of Georgia. Prior to founding ThotWave, Greg served as the Director of Technology at a large, privately held CRO, Director of Application Development for the Gallup Organization, and a director at the University of Georgia’s computer center. A prolific writer and compelling speaker, Greg has published and presented over 150 professional papers on healthcare analytics and the strategic use of information technology in the United States and Europe.

Monica M. Horvath, PhD
Director of Health Intelligence
Monica is a health intelligence and health services research thought leader with well over two decades of experience in healthcare, research methodology, informatics, and analytics. She holds a Ph.D in Molecular Biophysics, Computational Biology Track from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, a BS in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, and held a postdoctoral position at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. As the Health Analytics Lead for ThotWave, Monica provides thought leadership for care organizations interested in elevating their data and analytics literacy enterprise-wide. She helps organizations understand their analytics adoption maturity and develop strategies and tactics to achieve the learning health system paradigm. Previously, Monica led a multidisciplinary Health Intelligence team at Duke Medicine using analytics to evaluate health information technology approaches and their impact on financial endpoints, care design, and patient outcomes. Monica is firm believer that everyone, from the patient to the provider, plays an important role in gleaning insights from data.
Monica is the Health Analytics Lead for ThotWave and provides thought leadership for care organizations to understand their analytics adoption maturity (mindset-skillset-toolset) and develop strategies and tactics to achieve the learning health system paradigm. Monica is a Ph.D in Molecular Biophysics, Computational Biology Track from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
M. Michelle Buchecker, BBA, MCIS
Director Technical Training Services
Michelle helps ThotWave’s clients navigate smoothly through transformational change. She brings over two decades of technical training experience to her role, having previously worked as an Education Director for SAS Institute, as well as a SAS programmer at IBM. She holds a Master in Computer and Information Science (MCIS), Computer Information Systems from the University of Denver. As Director of Technical Training, Michelle designs, develops and delivers comprehensive change management and literacy programs that are tailored to the needs of individual organizations. These plans utilize various delivery methods, and are designed to increase employee knowledge regardless of the learning environment.
Michelle is the Director of Technical Training Services for Thotwave, Inc. She creates training plans utilizing various delivery methods designed to increase competency regardless of the learning environment. Michelle has a Master in Computer and Information Science (MCIS), Computer Information Systems from University of Denver.
